スバルの意志ではありません。基本的には「スバルが絶対に詰まない（運命を回避できる可能性が残っている）ポイント」が自動的に選ばれています。もしスバルが自由に決められたら、最初からもっと手前に戻しています。
ENGLISH TRANSLATION
It is not determined by Subaru's will. Essentially, a point is automatically selected where 'Subaru is guaranteed not to be in checkmate (where a possibility of avoiding the tragic fate still remains).' If Subaru could decide it freely, he would have moved it much further back from the beginning.
