Today, April 29, is the birthday of Re:ZERO's Elsa Granhiert! It's Meat Day! That's genuinely why we chose it. Elsa has received birthday flowers too, and in Re:ZERO, you could say she's a great character who achieved Subaru's first kill. Unlike some zero-kill character! Her impact is way too huge. https://t.co/SG7giNbD14

Alright! So here we are again: Re:Zero time this week! Already Episode 4! Episode 4 already! Last week Subaru and the others went through absolute hell, but what on earth is going to happen this week, and how?! See for yourself and find out!
It's started! That voice we heard right from the beginning was...???
No, wait, these voices are...???
Howling...???
I-it's the credits! If it's the credits, then don't tell me the OP is...!!
Last time, Subaru and the others had a terrible time dealing with an unbelievably awful path on the right and a left path that made you want to beg for mercy, but this time he wakes up with Emilia's lap pillow. That's truly going from hell to heaven.
Outside the dragon carriage was an unfamiliar place. As for Beatrice's shouted "nanoyo" as she jumps out of the dragon carriage, well, Beatrice does casually toss out things like "kashira" and "nanoyo" all the time in daily life.
At last, the mysterious new character said something other than "Found you"! They sure can talk, like they're making up for all the pent-up frustration so far.
Crushed Beako is adorable, and then when worried Subaru wakes up, he's embracing a girl (?) and Emilia-tan channels that hazy little feeling into her foot. I think it's very good.
Subaru gets thoroughly lectured by the group as they gather around. Well, fair enough as the price for getting clung to by a beautiful girl.
By the way, "don't talk so much" was an order Shaula had pretty much forgotten, but the joy of "Master has returned!" made her remember it, so she tried sharply obeying it. Like a student who only looks diligent about self-study when the teacher is watching.
"Stick-swinger" Reid aside, calling Volcanica "sarcastic" is not something most people could pull off. The guy is, officially, the "Divine Dragon," after all.
Flugel. Can you remember where you've heard that name before? It's a Re:Zero quiz.
For some reason, Meili is really attached to Shaula, and Shaula doesn't go and throw Meili for pulling her hair. Good, good. Nice to see them getting along.
I wonder how many people will actually get the joke in the way Shaula is carrying Patrasche here...
This is basically Shaula's first proper appearance, so that may be part of it, but I remember laughing because Shaula had about as many lines as Subaru in this episode. In Re:Zero, Subaru's dialogue is usually overwhelmingly the most every time.
Inside the tower there's a sort of refresh room. In the story, it's a space called the "green room," and it's one of the precious few places in the tower where you can get water. Incidentally, Shaula uses it so roughly that the spirit of the green room hates her (lol)
Thinking back to the previous episode's A-part, this scene of Subaru and Ram spending some quiet time here is important.
It's Hell's Snipe.
Only Emilia takes Shaula's joking little confession at face value and gets teary-eyed. As for Anastasia and Julius, are they only half-listening, or are they thinking about what it means? Which is it, I wonder.
Since there are a lot of scenes today where the camera is pointed at Shaula, Meili stuck to her back naturally keeps ending up in frame too. She hardly speaks, but her expressions tell all kinds of little stories, so she's unexpectedly fun to watch.
"A monolith, huh. Now that you mention it, it's such a perfect monolith that there's really no other word for it. It truly was a monolith. Why didn't I think of that? A grave oversight. But I'm glad I know now. That it's a monolith."
By the way, what they challenged in the "Sanctuary" in season 2 was the "Trials." What began here is the "Test." Slightly different, you know.
At first, when Subaru touched the monolith, it was Subaru's voice, but when Julius touched it, the "Test" question came in Julius's voice. We've seen a trick like this before.
Emilia-tan getting all fidgety after everyone finds out she was just taking random shots is adorable. You can totally picture her touching it over and over going, "Ei!" "Yah!" "Tah!"
Just like Garfiel in the "Sanctuary," Shaula in the tower acts like a guardian, yet has absolutely no information about either the "Trials" or the "Test," making her extremely effective as an obstruction.
Anastasia giving the trembling Julius a sidelong stare. I wonder what she was thinking. It's such a richly expressive face.
Incidentally, Julius has a bit of a history-buff side to him, so he loves historical figures and has a very strong longing for them to be people he can respect. Well, Reid is the type whose relatively accurate information should still exist, so it makes you wonder just how much inconvenient information Julius has been turning a blind eye to...
If you look closely at this white subtitle, little stars are faintly appearing here and there, and if you check what constellation they're forming, it's incredibly stylish.
Even so, that was fast! The ED came fast! Really? Even without an OP, can it end this quickly? I can't believe it!
There was a C-part after the ED too! Right! There was still more! Whew, that scared me!
By the way, isn't it incredibly protagonist-like to coolly solve the problem that none of your companions could get through?
Subaru's knowledge of the stars helped during the Regulus fight in season 3 too, but the reason Subaru knows so much about stars is that when school assigned homework to "look into the origin of your name," he learned his own name came from a star, and from then on he studied stars a lot. He's a romantic.
If it were me, I'd pick Rigel.
When the white light clears, they have passed the "Test," and what appears is a gigantic great library... and that's the end of episode 4!! Even with a C-part, it still ended fast! Too fast! Was there really 30 minutes? There were! Thanks again for this week!
The sponsor card is Subaru touching the monolith, and Julius behind him watching over Subaru touching the monolith with his arms folded. Having passed the "Test," will they really be able to fulfill the purpose of visiting this tower already? The answer is next week. And with that, thanks again for this week! See you next time!
Still, Beatrice flat-out saying she likes Subaru's face when he's getting carried away is some pretty good taste.
