In about 15 minutes, this week’s Re:Zero anime—episode 18—will air. I’ll say this in advance: although I’m the author who live-tweets along with the anime every week, I won’t be able to do that this week. Usually, I watch the advance copy of the completed episode I receive beforehand and prepare for live-tweeting, but I haven’t done that today. I’ll be watching it for the first time in real time with you all.

Today’s episode is something I feel especially strongly about—it’s related to why I wrote this work in the first place—so rather than spend any energy live-tweeting, I want to focus on the screen.
