All right! So today is the final episode of the first cour of Re:Zero Season 2! At the end of last time, the "Witch of Envy" appeared among the full gathering of "Witches." Just what kind of hell awaits Subaru? Stay tuned!

Fuji-Q Highland, huh! I thought it had started already! Yes, we're doing a collab!!
All right, this time it really has started! The moment she sees the "Witch of Envy" enter, Echidna's mouth gets nasty. Maybe it's just me, but even her facial muscles seem dead.
The "Witch of Envy" comes closer while saying, "I love you." Naturally, Subaru has no idea why she's whispering her love to him.
The mindset of "it'd be fine if I were the one who got hurt more than anyone else" is something Minerva, who cannot tolerate any kind of injury, finds very hard to overlook. That said, what Minerva can't overlook are physical injuries. Emotional wounds can't be seen, so she doesn't touch those.
"Who else but me did it for them?! Everything I've done up to now!!" is, personally, the part of Subaru's plea in this scene that I like as the author.
She was also muttering "Love me, love me, love me love me love me" back when it was all lovelovelovelovelovelove you, but this is the story of where that fixation was actually directed.
This is about what Natsuki Subaru had in mind when he resolved to make use of "Return by Death." It's something Season 2 has been depicting all along, and here we get the true meaning of it in his own words.
In Arc 3, Subaru made a major mistake and chose to borrow the strength of those around him in order to overcome the obstacles. As a result, he ended up losing Rem, so Arc 4 Subaru doesn't think in terms of relying on his allies' strength. Also, because he doesn't want them to disappear like Rem did.
Basically, in Re:Zero, the way a previous arc was cleared is set up so it can't be used in the next arc.
Tormented by the "Witch of Envy's" appeal, Subaru bit his own tongue in order to escape this situation. So the structure here is witches who affirm that act and witches who reject it.
Minerva attacked, but Typhon shattered her fist, and the follow-up was blocked by Sekhmet, who was supposed to be lying down. Sekhmet is the kind of being who can kill the other witches while doing nothing but lying down.
The way to clear Arc 1 was Reinhard, and he isn't there in Arc 2. The way to clear Arc 2 was Roswaal, and he isn't there in Arc 3. The way to clear Arc 3 was Rem, and she isn't there in Arc 4. Something like that, I suppose.
The many voices that echoed within Subaru as he stood on the brink of death were the voices of the people Natsuki Subaru has met, as glimpsed in the first and second "Trials" and in the worlds up to now.
Typhon's Authority is the power to break things according to the target's good and evil, but Daphne's coffin is a Witchbeast called the "Centipede Coffin," and because it has no capacity for thought like an insect, it has no concept of good and evil, making it Typhon's natural enemy.
The voices echoing in Subaru's head were the effect of Carmilla's Authority "Faceless Bride," which shows you what you most want to see. Carmilla said the reason she sided with Subaru was "love," but for the most part it was really more like, "I was pissed off because Echidna-chan tricked me."
"I promise I will surely lead you to the future you desire (after countless detours)." That is not a path that can be walked together with Natsuki Subaru after he came to wish to value himself.
When Echidna told Subaru, "You're greedy," I think this was probably the one and only moment when Echidna truly felt something favorable toward Subaru. Everything else was just an act of "You're into girls like this, right?"
I'll try my best. Compared to dying, it's nothing. That's Natsuki Subaru's new answer.
"Someday, definitely come kill me." "I swear, I'll save you."
The subtitle "A Sound That Makes You Want to Cry" refers to the voices of the people precious to Natsuki Subaru that he heard within himself as he was close to death. In the original work, Emilia's voice is often described as having a "silver-bell tone," so it's that kind of feeling.
Subaru was supposed to be inside the tomb, but for some reason he wakes up outside. The reason Patrasche is hurt is because she entered the tomb and carried Subaru out. She didn't want to leave Subaru there while he was suffering.
As proper direction showing Otto using the Divine Protection of Soul of Language, he's making the cry of an earth dragon. And here, Amazaki-san did not get a one-take OK! (lol)
The moment Subaru tries to enter the tomb, he's rejected. The reason he can no longer enter the tomb he was able to enter up to last time is Echidna's spite. If he decided he wanted to make a contract with her, she'd probably give him the qualification again. Witches do not understand the human heart.
Having lost the qualification and no longer able to clear the "Trials" in someone else's place, Subaru tries to rack his brain to save everyone, but Roswaal won't listen.
Roswaal wiped off his makeup with his hand, and that's because "he lost the will to keep it up." Did you notice how his tone of voice changed in that instant? Koyasu-san is unreal, isn't he?
"If there's life, there's a future. If there's a future, there's hope. If there's hope, there's possibility. And if there's possibility, people can be saved."
So then, I think those of you with sharp instincts had already noticed, but the identity of Elsa's employer has now been revealed.
Whether you should call it a weakness of "Return by Death" or not, if two places are attacked at the same time, Subaru is pretty powerless. That's the simple problem that's left him at a dead end in Arc 4.
Roswaal wants Subaru to become someone who cares about no one but Emilia. If he had made a contract with Echidna last time, he could have become something pretty close to that.
Roswaal understands Echidna, so even when he hears that Subaru's qualification has been taken away, he doesn't despair. As long as Subaru doesn't give up, a path will open. That is what "Return by Death" is.
"You are my hope." That is Roswaal's genuine feeling, without any exaggeration. Mmm, the acting here is just mesmerizing.
Facing Roswaal yet having his hope crushed, Subaru loses sight of what he should do and heads into the forest. Time simply passes by in vain.
He agonized all night, and dawn broke. Then, in front of the Otto who appeared, Subaru puts on a front. Because for some reason, when he relied on someone, Rem ended up like that.
This is the real Otto-can, damn it all----------!!!
Second half of the final episode of the first cour!!! No girls!! Except Patrasche!!!!!
And with that, the first cour ends right where Otto punches Subaru! Why did Otto punch Subaru? Surely not because he remembered Subaru punching him back in episode 17!? The answer to all of that will be carried over to the second half starting in January 2021!
I'm sure a lot of people were wondering where exactly the first cour would end. You never would have guessed it'd be here! Even I, back at the composition stage when I was dividing up the episode count, never imagined Otto would be the one holding the cliffhanger for three months!
